J-Pop Summit x New People :: Sugoi!!!

J-Pop Summit

Just this past weekend, my friend @MarkSFO and I (TRU3 B37A) made our way to J-Pop Summit in Japantown, San Francisco. The Nouveau-Japantown celebration unveiled, quite possibly, the first Japanese Popular Culture (J-Pop) Shopping Centre ever to reach the US. The four-storied shopping complex (a basement counts, ya?), cleverly called – New People – provides exclusive access of the J-Pop Culture to a wider audience, without having to travel all the way to Japan to get it.

The injection of NEW-LYF into an old Japantown (J-Town) is a good thing, and I could foresee a resurgence of youth populating its every crevice. I still remember the days when the only time I would head out to J-Town would be after a night of clubbing, ordering my loco moco at Denny’s. And occassionally stopping by the bowling alley to knock down a few pins, or the Kabuki Theatre for some eiga. However, removing all the fun activities that brought the youth in (although, violence was an issue as well), resulted in the youth not wanting to return. But lets forget about the past and look at what we got NOW! And what is that? One haute azifug shopping centre! New People is tne New Life in Japantown and we’ve got the fotos to prove it! Check out all of the Sugoi Azifug fotos, after the jump.

You’ll have a good azifug time! What surprised me the most was that the way the shopping plaza looked – like in. I was in Tokyo all over again. The look reminded me of the shoppes in Tokyo. Even H & M in Tokyo looks like New People in J-Town!

Yeah, I heard they opened up a Delica rf-1 there. I love that place, ate lunch there at the Embarcadero on a weekly basis. Always picked up their kakiage tempura, veggie okonomiyaki, fried shrimp cakes, spicy burdock root salad, and rice paper wrapped sushi rolls. LOL!!

I absolutely wish i lived in California! I’m way out the other way, in Indiana. There’s no Lolita-ness here! It makes me so sad, I love Baby and Black Peace Now!

yeah, the internet is near, but I can’t order through the internet. :( i’m not old enough for a credit card, and my mom doesn’t understand why i would spend $200 on one dress. I can’t get any Lolita at all! I’ve been obsessed for 2 years, and still don’t own ANYTHING Lolita besides the dress i handmade…which sucks by the way.
