Oakland, CA is known as the third largest city in the San Francisco Bay Area and the eighth-largest city in the all of California. It is also a major West Coast port city in the San Francisco Bay and all of Northern California that boasts at being the 47th-largest city in the U.S. with a population of 390,724. Situated just six miles east of San Francisco by way of the Bay Bridge, Oakland is real easy to get to. Which is real convenient if you want to enjoy all the city has to offer. Like Top Dog, for example. With its many accolades, Oakland should be celebrated. But sadly, Oakland has been lauded as a “tough city” that, if you’re not familiar with the area, should be avoided.
