FanimeCon is Northern California’s haut-est By Fans, For Fans Anime convention. Held annually at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center, PRotaku come together en masse to share a singular love for Anime と Manga, and of course, CosPlay!
One of the reasons why I enJoi attending conventions/eXPOs/tradeshows as often as I do is because its a great place to meet, network, and socialize with all sorts of people from all walks of life. Fanime 2010 was no exception! Meeting fellow Artists’ , taking pictures of CosPlayer’s, and schmoozing with the Vendors – you really absorb the true essence of Fanime by interacting with all the people in attendance. I met some really haute and interesting people/businesses/everything.else at Fanime and I wanted to share them with you, dear readers! So, hope you enJoi the Sugoi:
FanimeCon on FanimeCon
FanimeCon is its own entity where it takes not one, but many people to bring it together. Fans from across California and beyond band together and bring life into one of the largest anime conventions in the state. From the staffers, volunteers, and attendees, one passion brings them together.
I’ve lived in the Bay Area my entire life, but have never experienced the FanFare until 2010, which has marked the first year I was able to make it out to Fanime. All I’ll say about my experience at Fanime can best be summed up in one word: “Sugoi!” For being such a Fanime n00b, I felt very welcomed. The Artist’s Alley. The Vendors. The Volunteers. The Ice Cream Man. The Fans. And of course, the CosPlayers. Everyone was awesome and so easy to have conversations with. Thank you to Everyone that made my first experience such aHauteAzifug one!
After a fun-filled day of FanimExplosion, I’ve come to teh Conclusion that: I think I’ve turned Fanime For Life! Hope to see ya’ next year!
