Bags for Bikes: Tandem Pannier Bag by Timbuk2

Riding to work on my bicycle is fun: I get exercise, scenic views en route to Redwood City, and did I mention that I get exercise? But, sometimes its not fun. I wear a backpack to bring all my work gear and it feels restricting and, when it gets hot, I get all sweaty. Then, everything in my backpack gets soaked with sweat and did I mention the bad back ache that happens when you carry 20+ lbs of gear? That’s why I think the Tandem Pannier Bag by Timbuk2 comes in handy:

These two super-durable saddlebag pannier bags magically transform into a single shoulder bag. Thanks to built-in magnets, all traces of pannier-ness disappear, when two halves become one. A 15″ laptop pocket makes every commute a beauty. And while we can’t say it’s “waterproof” because you can’t submerge it in a pool, its fabric-backed tarpaulin fabric makes it super duper water resistant. A removable shoulder strap enables you to wear it like messenger or briefcase.

On my commutes (12-18 miles one-way) the Tandem Pannier Bag has held up well, and when mud gets on the bag, its real easy to clean off and all my gear inside stays clean.
