Bay Wanderer | Golden Gate Bridge

Bay Wanderer is a visual tour of San Francisco as seen through the lens of a Bay Wanderer. The Apple iOS app contains a list of Bay Area, CA’s most popular and often overlooked/not so well-known places.

In the San Francisco Edition, we cover places from Golden Gate Park to Land’s End, and beyond. Today, we wander off to the:

Golden Gate Bridge

On May 27, 1937 the Golden Gate Bridge, a suspension-bridge spanning the Golden Gate Strait, opened its roads to the public. The bridge has become known as the most iconic symbol of San Francisco, allowing access to/from San Francisco to/from Mary County. The cost to cross the bridge by car (at the time of writing) is $7.25. But for the best Golden Gate Bridge experience, we recommend biking or walking across the 1.7 mi. (2.7km) span.
