David Beckham has retired from soccer, better known as football outside of America.  Bringing an end to a glittering career on the field.  Beckham is of course a figure who divides opinion. Hated by many for his interests in fashion and celebrity lifestyle, I suspect that many of the haters are in fact simply jealous in reality.

There is of course much to be jealous of.  Having had a successful career which took him all over the world, being married to a former pop star, with four children and a fortune of hundreds of millions between him and wife Victoria. David Beckham is the embodiment of the phrase “Living the Dream”.

Beckham was never the most talented of players.  He made his career from hard work and determination to become arguably the best dead ball specialist and passer of a ball the world has ever seen in the game of soccer.

From his wacky haircuts to his classic goals, from Europe to America and around the world.  He even made several stops in the bay area when his LA Galaxy played the San Jose Earthquakes.  David has provided many golden moments for his fans on and off the pitch.

Flickr, an online photo management and photo sharing application, is now offering 1TB of FREE storage space for you to upload all of your digital pictures. Let that number settle in for a second. 1 TB. That’s about 1000 GB. Or, 1 million MB. Now, if you consider that a single image taken today on all digital cameras is ~ 3-5 MB, you’ll quickly realize that 1 TB is hella space! But that’s not all. The Flickr site as a whole received a new facelift emphasizing on a “better and brighter Flickr” by introducing a whole new user interface and experience.

Definitely worth checking out, and most definitely worth checking out for the 1 TB free storage space. I do think its worth mentioning that the 1 TB of storage space doesn’t come come completely free, as ads will be in there somewhere. I have yet to see what this’ll look like. On that note, there are paid options that will get rid of the ads if you so choose: street price ($49/year).

This news comes off the heels of Yahoo!’s latest acquisition of Tumblr for $1.1 Billion and announcement of Yahoo!’s big move to NYC. Looks like Yahoo!’s days are looking bigger and brighter.

Coming this May is the salivating hit of an event from last year the San Jose Taco Festival. Let me start off by saying, if you missed last year’s inaugural Taco Festival event last year here’s your chance to attend enjoy the different varieties of taco trucks that will be showcasing, and selling their unique, and creative tacos!!!

The 2nd Annual Taco Festival will be held at History Park on May 25th. This event will be bigger and better than last year’s event. There will be 60% more taco trucks attending, 100% more room to enjoy the event, and more entertainment than before.

Ever since last year’s attendance this event got nothing but hungry followers wanting more. Don’t make the same mistake that people made last year by trying to buy tickets at the event. The event sold out last year and there were a lot people that were trying attend the event that couldn’t get in. So, save the time and hassle and buy your tickets in advanced.

The Golden State Warriors are looking to change venues by 2017 and are shooting for San Francisco. The proposed venue is aimed to be on Piers 30-32, premiere waterfront property, off of Embarcadero St. This serves as an ideal location because “the area is in close proximity to BART, Caltrain and Muni stops, ferry terminals and the Bay Bridge, while also being located within easy walking distance of the Financial District in Downtown San Francisco.” The proposed project doesn’t come without its resistance. The new stadium proposal has been met with opposition that range from the citizens of Oakland, Dubs fans, and beyond; but its looking like the new stadium will become a reality. And if it does indeed become a reality, you can expect Embarcadero St., San Francisco, and Bay Area sports will become an internationally renown sports town like no other.

Welcome to Levi’s® Stadium! Those will be the words uttered out of every GOLD BLOODED 49er fan once the new stadium being built in Santa Clara is complete. The San Francisco 49ers and Levi’s have struck a 20-year deal for $220 million agreement in a naming rights partnership that would grant Levi’s® official sponsorship and interior/exterior influence on the new stadium.

As powerful advocates for our communities, we share a vision for the new stadium constructed on the pillars of innovation, sustainability and an unparalleled entertainment experience. I am looking forward to this being brought for consideration by the Stadium Authority to approve aligning this great, global brand with our great City tomorrow evening.” San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee said, “It is very fitting to see two of the Bay Area’s best-known brands coming together to showcase the best our region has to offer. Every time a fan turns on their television to watch a 49ers home game from Levi’s® Stadium, the entire region will be on center stage. And, in a few short weeks, we are hopeful that we will host Super Bowl 50 or 51 and experience the enormous economic boost and lasting legacy for the entire Bay Area.”

The interesting issue about this agreement is the historical connection between the San Francisco 49ers and Levi’s® – both share origins and roots tied to the Gold Rush era – a serendipitous coincidence I must say. Now, that the union has come full circle, I’m excited to see what will come next. Who knows? Maybe a chance to to host Super Bowl 50?
