JASON BAYANI is a graduate of Saint Mary’s MFA program in Creative Writing. He is a Kundiman fellow and a veteran of the National Poetry Slam scene whose work has been published in Fourteen Hills, Muzzle Magazine, Mascara Review, the National Poetry Slam anthology, Rattapallax, Write Bloody’s classroom anthology–– Learn Then Burn, and other publications. As a member of 7 National Poetry Slam teams, he’s been a National Poetry Slam finalist and represented Oakland at the International World Poetry Slam. He is also one of the founding members of the Filipino American Spoken Word troupe, Proletariat Bronze, and has been an organizer for the Asian and Pacific Islander Poetry and Spoken Word Summit. His first book, “Amulet” was published in 2013 through Write Bloody Press and has garnered acclaim in literary magazines such as Zyzzyva and Glint.

LORENZ MAZON DUMUK is a poet, spoken word artist and community organizer. He has been writing since middle school and has been performing poetry since 1998. Lorenz is an alumni of VONA/Voices. He has two collections of poetry, Ay Nako: Writing Through the Struggle and I Think In Poetry. Lorenz currently organizes with the writing group, The ReWrite, which focuses on building and developing the API spoken word and poetry community in the Bay Area.

KRISTEN SAJONAS thinks writing bios are awkward and prefers bullet points for brevity’s sake (she also doesn’t like referring to herself in the third person), sooooo:

– I grew up in Union City and currently live in San Francisco.
– I graduated in September with a masters degree in social work (hit me up with them job leads, tho!!!)
– I work at a gay club.
– I am a founding member of the poetry collective The ReWrite and am an organizer with the national APIA Spoken Word and Poetry Summit.
– You can find my work published in Maganda Magazine and the anthology Walang Hiya.
– I love burritos.

ASTRALOGIK – Singer-songwriter, Charito Soriano, joined forces with Guitarist, Rowenalyn “FunkCH3N” Conlu on the date 10.10.10. Both Filipino-American women time-traveled into the present to share their unique musical journey filled with acoustical soul-liberating boundaries that are created in our life’s path of constant balance. Their live performance & music creates a timeless & entertaining journey — playing beautiful harmonic melodies about life, love, hip-hop, reggae, soul and everything in-between.

AMY DABALOS – Emerging jazz/R&B vocalist Amy Dabalos is a gifted artist noted for her exceptional interpretation of song. Beginning her musical journey in the jazz world, Amy was inspired by the improvisational freedom of the music. Her style and approach to singing is greatly influenced by vocal jazz legends, as well as her undergraduate training in classical voice. She takes standards, and some not-so-standards, and makes the music all her own. New harmonies, different rhythms, and a completely modern take on songs you know and love. Most recently, she has been a featured artist at City Lights Theater, Left Coast Live, the San Pedro Square Market and the San Jose Jazz Winter and Summer Festivals.

DANDIGGITY is a dork.

RUBY VERIDIANO is a glamour girl off to change the world. She is a Filipina-American writer, speaker, TV host, and passionate social change advocate. Her work has spanned across hundreds of universities across the U.S., Europe, and Asia. From high school classrooms to to the red carpet for Alicia Keys’ charity ball in London, Ruby’s voice serves to uplift and empower her audience. She will be a graduate student of Broadcasting & Communications starting this January at the American University of Paris, France.
