It’s here. Or rather, its gonna be here. Sony revealed its next generation console – the The PlayStation®4. The PS4™ focus is on the gamers by providing impeccable gaming and the most immersive experiences on the new platform, while also providing game developers a system that allows limitless creation.
Features of the PS4™ system include: custom chip set containing eight x86-64 cores, a 1.84 TFLOPS graphics processor with 8 GB of ultra-fast GDDR5 unified system memory, and an all new DualShock®4 controller that includes a highly sensitive six-axis sensor, touch pad located on the top of the controller, and a new SHARE button that brings in an easier way to implement online social sharing. Speaking of sharing, there was a big divide between the two largest game console makers on how used games could be transferred/shared with others. This is Sony’s stance on that issue:
Overall, when it comes to the next generation console, better graphics and faster gameplay to keep pace with current technology is what we want. And at the heart of all that “want” is the heart of what the next generation consoles should address: what the gamer wants. So, at the end of the day, if I had to choose between circles or a PS4c I’m gonna go PS4 life!
