Welcome to THREAD Show!

One thing I love about being back in the Bay Area is the abundance of HauteAzifug events that go down. Case in point: THREAD Show 2009. I had so much fun at THREAD this year that I ended up going BOTH days! Style, fashion, good vibes, beer in hand and a room full of good people – the scenario couldn’t have been set-up any better.

Saturday: my Cousin PM Dawn and I hit up Fort Mason Center in San Francisco. This marks the first time that either of us has attended a THREAD show. We warmed up for the “Main Event” by going to New People Artist Village prior. Upon arrival, it was style upon fashion upon creativity, as far as the eye can see.

We arrived early, so it gave both of us plenty of time to absorb all the style and fashion before us. We got to know the designers, what inspired them to create the Art we Wear, and what motivates them to continue pursuing their dreams. Many people were more than happy to have photos taken of their work, but for some, not so much. Eh, so be it. Who cares, really? There were HELLA people that were more than happy to have their Art remembered in photos.

After a couple hours of walking around, socializing and shopping. It was time to hit the runway. The models were fierce and the performers were audio-gasmic. The perfect fusion of Fashion & Music. And after I threw back a cold one, well you can guess what happened next.

Did I also mention I went AGAIN on Sunday? Yup. Hunny K and I usually only have one free day to spend with each other, so we decided on THREAD. After lunch with the family in Oaland Chinatown, we made our way to SF. And as you already know how I spent my day on Saturday, well, I ended up walking that same runway again with Hunny K. Damn. HauteAzifug event. Really great weekend. Can’t wait for THREAD next year…

To all Bay Area’s style/fashion aficionados/aficonadas: On November 21-22 from 11AM – 6PM Threadshow is returning to the Fort Mason Center in San Francisco. Showcasing emerging and independent fashion designers to/from the Bay Area; Threadshow is your kippu into emerging, trend forecasting, style breaking and style defining style/designs/fashion. What’s new this year? THREAD will feature a holiday shopping event in San Francisco just in time for gift-giving. The event, which has typically been only one day, will expand to a full weekend. To all the Bay Area’s finest (that’s all of you!): On Friday, November 13 at the Aristocrats Boutique in San Jose, the Love & Hate In-Store event kicks off – featuring MADE Jewelry’s L&VEHATE collection, the release of MADE&ADAPTS L&VEHATE Tee and showcasing photography by Jeffrey Dojillo. The In-Store event/Happy Hour will run from 6pm-9pm. Full Bar is provided. Happy Hour attendance also grants you free admission to the Voodoo Lounge After party.

Despite the colder weekend forecast, its looking to be an Haute Azifug weekend! What’s going on? Well, there is the Designer’s Weekend and Fleet Week, the President’s Cup. And now: Union Design SF!

Union Design SF is a free outdoor festival going down on Oct 11th, from 11-6pm Sunday:

celebrating Bay Area fashion and accessory designers. Hella unique designers featuring women’s and men’s clothing, accessories, bags, baby wear, kids clothes, jewelry, a bit of housewares, lifestyle products, and hella t’s…

Fleet Week, a Bay Area tradition, is going on this weekend and if you are looking for a celebration for the men and women of the armed forces – this is it! Fashion will also be in attendance as we have the opportunity to check out the San Francisco Bay Area’s best emerging fashion and accessory designers at Style Elevation’s Event: Weekend Pop Up Shops located on Grant Avenue in North Beach, San Francisco.

The designers in attendance? Go here. Numerous designers will present and sell their collections directly to the public in retail spaces around 1418 Grant Ave. this weekend: Saturday, October 10 (10am – 7pm) through Sunday, October 11 (11am – 5pm).
