I asked my Cuzn JP what he thought about the newly released Final Fantasy XIII from Square Enix. He picked it up today and couldn’t stop talking about it! What did he say again? SMH. Oh, ya. Something like “FINAL FANTASY XIII = PURE EPICNESS” and “OMFG!” I think were his words. Anyways, I asked him what he thought. This was his response:

Edo: What up Cuzn! So what do you think about Final Fantasy XIII?
Cuzn JP: It is sick Azifug! lol…very fast paced, battle system is a bit tricky, it’s more strategic…it teaches you everything down the line…and the graphics are AWESOME! smooth and well detailed…i was having eyegasms the whole time lmao…the only thing i kinda didn’t like is how corny this love situation between these two characters in the game lol…but other than that…10/10

graphics, gameplay, soundtrack…A+ story/plot…B

And there you have it! JP’s Review! So what makes Cuzn JP‘s the aficionado in video gaming? What is his street cred as a video gamer? cred as a video gamer? Well, if you’ve ever seen his collection of consoles and games as well as his long-standing relationship with them, you’d know. TRUST. As for me, darnit I need to get me a PS3! ASAP!

Most of you readers may be too young to remember this, but Back in My Day, when 8-Bit was Too Lefit to Quit, there was a fantastical RPG called Final Fantasy. It was frakkin’ amazing! Not only could you recruit allies along the way (a gaming first) you could navigate an airship. An AIRSHIP! But as I grew up, so did the tech. And the days of 8-Bit were soon lost to the obsolete-abyss…

Wish I could have those gaming days back. So grand. So epic. Perhaps only in fantasy…

Or is it reality again? Do Final Fantasy dreams come true? They do if you own an iPhone. Square Enix has finally unveiled the trailer for Final Fantasy I & II – coming soon to an iPhone near you.

Re-living my 8-Bit fantasies have never been so epic! I swear I saw someone playing this already, on the Yamanote line during my 009 trip to Japan. Glad to see it finally make its way United State side. Can’t wait! Maybe next-gen gamers will get to experience 8-Bit after all…

On a Dragon’s Quest, to find the best – bar in Japan. Nihon is nefarious for its many themed bars that adorn the streets of Tokyo. From Maiden Cafes to CosPlay restaurants, themed bars and restaurants are the Haute-st places to parlay.

The latest addition in Japanese themed restaurants: Luida’s Bar. A restaurant inspired by the epic RPG, Dragon Quest. Or as we know it best in the U.S. – Dragon Warrior will open on 木曜日, Jan. 28, 2010 in the Roppongi District. Bar hours are from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. on weekdays and from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. on weekends. The menu will consist of food names like those in the game and I’m sure there will be many a かわいい “hostess” to serve you おいしいfood. It IS the Roppongi District after all. I wonder if I can get a Slime jello? Hmm…

When I was a kid, video games were a simple 8-Bit wonder. Gameplay was simple. Storylines were simple. Heck, even the controllers used to play the games were simple. Not like the multi-buttoned controllers of today. I wish I could take it back: the games, the graphics, the youth…

Looks like my wishes are coming true as Square Enix has just announced that it will be reviving the original Final Fantasy games. And what better platform to serve these games than, yup, thats right – The Apple iPhone. If you ask me, that’s pretty BadAzi that a new generation of gamers get to experience a classic Final Fantasy! Will they even enjoy 8-Bit? I know I will! Looks like I don’t have to dust off my old Nintendo and blow into those games after all.

Here’s to hoping that this announcement is a sign of things to come. Don’t let the Classic games die out!

Kimi ga Iru kara – Because You Are Here or Because I Have You

The wait is over! Well, sort of. Square Enix finally revealed its release date of the highly-anticipated RPG phenomenon :: Final Fantasy XIII. Eager souls have been howling wildly over the announcement. MTV News catches wind that Final Fantasy XIII is Coming March 9, 2010. You can expect Chocobos running Wild, a new Weapons System, a new character growth system, and a Leona Lewis fantasy. If that’s not enough to whet your appetite, I recommend you check out the game yourself. You will NOT be disappointed. What lies ahead for North Americans come 03.09.2010? I’m gonna have to go with – One Epic Story. Can’t wait.
