If you’ve ever been to Blizzcon, you’ll probably come across (and no doubtedly take pictures of) a niche of the Blizzard community that really love to display their fandom for Blizzard gaming. Who are they? The CosPlay-er. Each year, men, women and children transform themselves into otherworldly characters to entertain the masses. For many, CosPlay is one of the essential “must-see” elements of any Blizzcon, but can they do more?

Aside from the scores of fans costumed in Blizzard garb, what I’d really like to see at Blizzcon 2010 is one epic LARP event. LARP stands for Live-Action Role-Playing and, as the name suggests, would take those CosPlayed fellows and pit them against one another in a battle like nobody has seen before. Could it happen? Who knows, but it would definitely bring a different aura to Blizzard’s largest celebration. And speaking of which, guess what’s coming up?

Dear Santa,

Christmas is around the corner, and while I ready the DVD player for another 24 hours of A Christmas Story, I wanted to send you “My Wishlist” for the Holidays. You probably know this already, but I wanted to tell you again that I’ve been a good boy. Go ahead. Check your list. I’ll wait. Check it twice if you want. I also wanted to let you know that I always eat my vegetables. Unless its brussel sprouts. I only eat that if we have vinegar. Also, I don’t say any bad words. Well, not that often. And oh, I love Mama K very much! So please Santa, if you have time in your schedule, when you stop by my chimney to drop off presents, please consider at least one of my gifts from “My Wishlist.” Thank you.

With milk and cookies,

Baby Edo

What does it take to beat the never-ending game that is World of Warcraft? Apparently, a level 80 Taur-Drood. From Taiwan. That only /hug 11 times. And /lol once. /w00t!

You all know how much I Love to play WoW. But a certain Taiwanese player that goes by the name of “Little Grey” (小灰) may just love it a little bit more than I do. So what has “Little Grey” (小灰) done? Well, the lil’ Wrathbringer from Taiwan has beaten the ultimate in Massively Multi-Player Online RPG’s – World of Warcraft. How do I know he’s beaten it? Because he’s sitting at home right now asking when Cataclysm is going to be released! Seriously! He’s questing w/ n00bs right now who are QQ’ing over not having “beaten” the game yet. What a good guildie. And one Drood that deserves a PWN GROWN Tee. /yee!

At any rate, the lil’ Wrathbringer has broughted the Wrath – having completed all the achievements except for the recently added “BB King” and is the first player to reach 986/986 points listed in the armory. What’s it say? Something like, he’s killed <del datetime="2009-12-03T22:38:53+00:00">390,895</del> HELLA creatures and died <del datetime="2009-12-03T22:38:53+00:00">8,543</del> not too many times himself. He has racked up <del datetime="2009-12-03T22:38:53+00:00">7,255,538,878</del> HELLA points of damage and has completed <del datetime="2009-12-03T22:38:53+00:00">5,906</del> DAMN THATS A LOT OF quests. And he ran a Taur-Drood. A DROOD! They’re not even OP. WoW. Maybe I need to re-roll a Drood. Chalk one up for the Horde. Wonder how he does in WG? And I wonder if he was grinding boars to get to 80. Just a thought…

What is this I see in my virtual Holiday stocking? A gift from Blizzard, perhaps? If the above email I just received from “Blizzard” isn’t a hoax, then it looks like I’ll be cozying up in front of my World of Warcraft enclave for 7 Days to help celebrate 5-years of World of Warcraft Anniversary fun!

If this is all a ploy to get me back into your World of Warcraft, then well, guess what? Its working! Much thanks to you guys, and see you on WoW!

Update: It appears the Pet Store link is not working. Interesting…

You know how much I # WoW. The raids, instances, gear, auctions, and comradarie; I # all that. So when I found out that the Blizzard Store has just put up two in-game pets for REAL-MONEY on sale, for use in the VIRTUAL World of Warcraft (WoW) realm, I was stoked. It’s the first time Blizzard has made this kind of service available. At the cost of $10 per pet…

For many folks, this is no big deal. There are a lot of games out today that give you the option of spending your cold-hard cash for in-game currency, goods and other services. So why should WoW be any different? Well, aside from the $15 a month I spend on WoW membership, what’s another $10, right? Before you know it, we’ll all have the chance to parade around in our Tier 8 gear with the hautest pets in tow. Just shell out the cash at the Blizzard Store! /w00t! </sarcasm> (Actually, this is kind of a touchy subject. And I would have to agree. Check out the banter betwen the fanboys here). Regardless of how I, or how many others feel for that matter, these pets are actually CoolAzifug.

The two new non-combat pets are (as quoted from store):

Lil’ K.T. (pictured left) :: What Lil’ K.T. lacks in size, he more than makes up for in sheer malicious intensity. Watch with misplaced pride as he randomly freezes critters and laughs maniacally at your vanquished PvP foes. Once activated, this World of Warcraft in-game pet key applies to all present and future characters on a single World of Warcraft license

Pandaren Monk (pictured right) :: Possessing the diplomatic humbleness common to his reclusive race, the Pandaren Monk accompanies you on your journeys throughout Azeroth, returning any /bows he receives from other players. Half of the proceeds to every Pandaren Monk purchased through December 31, 2009 will be donated to the Make-a-Wish Foundation, further demonstrating his benevolent nature (though, in idle moments, he may still practice his Kung Fu moves). Once activated, this World of Warcraft in-game pet key applies to all present and future characters on a single World of Warcraft license.

Again, they run $10 each.
