By definition, the sandwich is a simple food. Just a couple slices of bread, some meat/not-meat and cheese filling, and violà – you’ve got a sandwich. There’s not much more you can do with a sandwich to make it more savory. Unless, of course, you are on the ultimate list of sandwich places in the Bay Area.
